Be an Ally Foundation (BEAF) is a non-profit organization in Cyprus dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. Its mission is to challenge and transform societal norms that hinder equal opportunities for all.
The organization’s flagship nonprofit initiative, Girls in STEAM Academy, has been running since 2021 and is designed to bridge the gender gap prevalent in STEAM fields.
Its vision for Girls in STEAM Academy is to empower young girls and women to pursue and emerge as leaders in STEAM disciplines, achieved through comprehensive training/educational programs, networking activities offered to the organization’s beneficiaries and awareness raising actions. Since 2021, eleven BridgeSTEAM programs have been conducted across various locations in Cyprus, with more than 160 girls participating.

Our projects promote gender equality, inclusion and diversity, and human rights and EU values through non-formal education and game-based learning, ensuring equal opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds, including disadvantaged groups. We empower individuals through personal and professional development, mental health and wellbeing, active citizenship, and entrepreneurship, while fostering environmental awareness and green skills aligned with the 17 SDGs. We also support STEAM, ICT, digital and media literacy, and intergenerational learning, helping learners thrive in a digital and interconnected world and strengthening cultural and intercultural dialogue. Our activities include developing innovative educational methodologies and learning tools, as well as delivering campaigns, events, and workshops that inspire and engage communities both online and offline.

LOGO PANGYPRIOU

Pagkyprion Gymnasion is the oldest secondary school in Cyprus, founded in 1812. It has a long-standing tradition of academic excellence, national contribution, and cultural enrichment. Today, it operates as a modern and innovative educational institution, offering programs that integrate tradition with contemporary learning methodologies. The school provides general secondary education, while also incorporating STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education.Through its interdisciplinary and project-based learning approach, students develop critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy. Additionally, the school hosts a Music Gymnasium/Lyceum and an All-Day Interdisciplinary and Cross-Curricular Gymnasium, promoting artistic and scientific excellence. The school is committed to fostering social responsibility, environmental awareness, and active citizenship, preparing students for both academic and professional success.

Technical school in Pirot is a vocational high school and the biggest educational institution on the territory of Pirot, Serbia. The school represents an inevitable link in the field of education and labor market since its teaching programmes are tailored according to the needs of the local companies. There are three major fields: electrical engineering (IT technician, vehicle electronics technician, renewable-energy technician), mechanical engineering (mechatronics technician, CNC technician) and traffic engineering (road traffic technician and driver of motor vehicle). The school’s previous Erasmus+ projects were specifically related to the VET teaching programmes in the fields of IT, Robotics, CNC programming and Traffic engineering. As a part of the role it fulfills, Technical School is eager to encourage girls in STEAM careers by creating a supportive environment through hands-on learning, mentorship from female role models and highlighting the real-world impact of STEAM. Also, the school’s aims are to provide a multilingual and multicultural approach to teaching by upgrading study programmes according to broad European and international standards.
